Hooked on Sustainable Seafood

Share

Toronto is setting trends, and we are lucky to have a strong movement that supports the philosophies of sustainablity and local seasonal eating. A new business opened recently in Leslieville, and Hooked Inc. owner Dan Donovan has created something that is unique in North America, a store that exclusively sells sustainable seafood. I have paid a few visits to the store, and am always impressed with what I have found. The store is bright, spotless, well laid out, and if you time it right they might be shucking oysters or cooking something up on the grill. You never know what you will find when you walk in, on a recent visit I found Shawn from Simple Fish and Chips in Stratford picking up some goodies and having a chat with Dan.

Here is some evidence of the good things going on at Hooked Inc. to tide you over until you can visit Dan and his staff in person.

For more info on Hooked Inc, check out their website: http://www.hookedinc.ca/. They are located at 888 Queen St. E., and are open Tuesday to Friday from 11-7, on Saturdays from 8 until 7, and Sundays from noon until 4 (Starting May 1).
